Cuban Missle Crisis
Tension between the Soviet Union and the United States during the Cold War period reached its peak when the Soviets began placing missiles in Cuba, which were intended to fire at major cities in the US. Named the "Cuban Missile Crisis," this event led to the preparation of the United States to go into war with the Soviets. Although physical battle never broke out between the two sides, this crisis is one of the most famous events involved with the Cold War era.
